Florida's Spiny lobster are uniquely different from their Northern cousins, no claws, long antennae, and allow for the opportunity of a lifetime to catch and cook them in the beautiful coastal waters of the Florida Keys. Lobster Season 2023
Florida has a 2 day mini-season and the 8 month regular lobster season for the recreational taking of lobster in our waters. The regular 8 month lobster season is always August 6 through March 31. Make sure to always verify dates and regulations with Florida Fish and Wildlife, we take great pride in intimately knowing the rules and regulations, booking with Island Girl means you'll be in the trusted hands of a captain that will educate you and ensure we are always in compliance so there is plenty of lobster for all to enjoy.

WHAT TO EXPECT
Capt. Lori offers a private charter for up to 6 guests that will benefit from years of experience, having acquired over 3,000 GPS coordinates to find and catch lobster for guests. Island Girl Charters covers all fishing and lobster licensing, guests are NOT required to have their own license. a cooler with ice is supplied on the boat. All lobstering gear, (net, tickle stick, measuring device) will be provided. No additional charge for fuel.

Crew will explain how to catch lobster, safety on the water, and enter the water with you so you are always safe and comfortable. Lobstering does require being able to hold your breath underwater, but don't let that intimidate you! We have worked with countless beginners and gotten them on lobster in no time. If a charter catches the daily limit allowed with time to spare, we'll happily enjoy the rest of the trip relaxing, snorkeling, whatever guests would like. Weather permitting, this trip may be on a 21ft deck boat.

WHAT SHOULD YOU BRING:
Sunscreen, towels, snorkel equipment (with advance notice, Island Girl Charters may be able to provide fins if necessary), sun protection shirts and hat, sunglasses, camera, underwater camera, a cooler to take your catch home, lip balm with spf, any food or drink you may want, but no glass please! For attire, a swim suit, shorts, flip flops is usually fine. In cooler weather guests may want a wetsuit.

Cancellation Policy if you cancel more than two weeks prior to the date of your trip, you incur no cancellation fee.
If you to cancel within 14 days of your scheduled trip, you will incur a $200 cancellation fee. If you cancel within 48 hours of your trip, or you do not show up for your scheduled trip, you will be charged the full amount of your charter.
